The 3rd Annual Strategic Video Awards winners were announced today, honoring the best in strategic video communication by corporations, nonprofits and other organizations. Among the first time honorees are NFL, PayPal, and PR Newswire.

“It’s not just that this was by far the best batch of videos we’ve ever seen,” said program chairman David Murray. “What’s truly inspiring is the social relevance of the subjects of the videos.” From mental health in schools to veterans returning from Afghanistan, organizations are using videos “to show how their agenda connects with some of the most important social issues of our time,” Murray says.

A panel of judges that included senior director of employer brand strategy of eBay, Peter Vogt, selected the award winners based on the effectiveness of the video message.

This year’s Strategic Video Awards Grand winner was awarded to Peel District School Board for their video “Stand Up.” The outstanding video shows how staff in the school district supports their students with mental health issues – a very timely topic these days as schools attempt to address bullying and prevent violence.

Other notable winners include the National Football League’s video “To My Brothers,” the Children’s Medical Center of Dayton’s video “Saving Baby Bailey,” and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ video “Bryan’s Story.”
