Digital Products Rising Fast in McMurry's Portfolio
MARCH 17, 2011
Phoenix—A report from McMurry underscores that all the talk about digital isn't just talk. It is being backed up with increased spending by brand marketers. In fact, more than 90 percent of McMurry customers are engaging the globally recognized content marketing firm in digital work.
"The Internet has been a wonderful thing for a company like ours," says McMurry CEO Chris McMurry. "Ten years ago, delivery mechanisms for content were pretty much limited to custom publications and other forms of direct mail. The Internet has opened up many new channels."
Nearly 70 percent of McMurry's clients who began their foray into content marketing through custom publications have since added digital components to their marketing strategies, such as various forms of video, rich content sites, audiocasts, mobile apps, social media integration and search marketing—so the content can be easily found.
"What people might find even more intriguing than the digital growth is that we still produce 60 million printed magazine and newsletter units every year," points out McMurry President Fred Petrovsky. "Print, search marketing and other outbound tactics bring consumers to the content, and many believe that as mailboxes become less cluttered, print represents a new opportunity."
"We see search marketing as the next big thing in content marketing and a huge area of growth for our company. Just because the content is online doesn't mean it can be easily found," adds McMurry COO/CFO Audra Taylor, who notes that almost all search engine users click through to sites with first-page rankings. "The Postal Service helps people find a magazine in their mailbox, and search helps people find online content."
McMurry, with three offices in Arizona and New York, offers a complete line of marketing communications services to a variety of clientele, including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., CBS, Aon, Deloitte, HP, Verizon, UPS, Thomson Reuters and Amtrak, as well as resources to thousands of corporate professionals. The company has specialized practices in healthcare, finance and insurance, and best-in-class content marketing, interactive and video production services. One of the largest independent marketing communications companies in the U.S., McMurry is on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list and is recognized by the Great Place to Work® Institute and Entrepreneur® as one of the top five "Best Small Workplaces" in the U.S.
