McMurry's Web Builder Product, WebEdge, Growing into New Verticals

JUNE 4, 2010

Phoenix—The popular, easy-to-use website building and management software WebEdge will be made available soon in markets such as dental practices, veterinary practices, law firms and accountancies, in addition to its current markets of hospitals and medical practices.

McMurry launched WebEdge in 2007. The hosted solution has been aggressively adopted by more than 200 hospitals and medical practices since. Sites powered by WebEdge represent more than 20,000 pages and attract more than 10 million unique visitors per year.

"We've had great success with organizations wanting affordable sites that can be launched quickly, and with functional and branding needs beyond what is offered by the many elementary website building products in the market," explained CEO Chris McMurry.

Within a given industry sector, site functionality requirements are often common from one site to the next. WebEdge allows sites with similar needs to share code and reduce costs while presenting a unique, customized user experience. The product also includes a proprietary content management system that makes site updates simple.

"The architecture of the system was designed with this expansion and eventuality in mind," added Michael Barber, president/Interactive at McMurry. "WebEdge is an ideal middle-market product; it's for organizations that need more than a simple site and something less than a radically expensive site where every feature is custom-coded."

A new logo has been developed for the product. The core logo will be similar across all industries, and a tag descriptor will denote the industry-specific version of WebEdge.
