Sparking a Memory for 9/11

A series of Public Service Announcements remembers and honors the lives of those lost on September 11th
Sparking a Memory for 9/11

Spark Productions, McMurry’s in-house video production company, has worked with the 9/11 Museum and Memorial for several years on the videos for its annual 9/11 Benefit Dinner. In 2011, Spark was asked for the first time to work on a series of public service announcements: one 60-second, two 30-second and two 15-second spots for broadcast to broaden awareness of the memorial from within New York throughout the United States.

The PSAs involve the voices of people directly affected by the 9/11 attacks, including celebrities like longtime NYC resident Robert DeNiro. Each person delivers a personal message about whom they believe the memorial is for. First Responders say it was for those who died saving others, while family members say it was for the loved ones they lost. The conclusion the viewer draws is that the memorial is meant for everyone, because we were all affected by 9/11.
