WebEdge 3.0: New Version of McMurry's Web Building Software

OCTOBER 20, 2010

Phoenix—McMurry's popular, easy-to-use website building and management software WebEdge, which allows organizations to manage their own websites efficiently and affordably, has been upgraded to offer more capabilities and to make back-end management even easier for users.

New features include:

  • Enhanced multisite management capabilities
  • Relational content engine (taxonomy/tagging)
  • Improved security model and settings
  • Online help center with video demos of all modules
  • Better website navigation management
  • Full audit trail of content changes with rollback options

"WebEdge allows for a site to be built extremely quickly, which makes it an affordable and easy-to-manage option for many businesses," says President/Interactive Agency Michael Barber. "From the newest upgrades to the color and design templates to the module library, WebEdge is a go-to tool for any hospital or medical practice, veterinary practice, and law or accountancy firm trying to create a strong, effective Web presence without having to pay for a site with unique coding built from scratch."

McMurry also has began to offer a new mobile website option for its healthcare clients that creates a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) compatible version of WebEdge features, such as maps, directions, services and physician directories.

McMurry built WebEdge in 2007, and the hosted solution has been aggressively adopted by more than 200 hospitals and medical practices. In the past two years, WebEdge has experienced 50 percent year-over-year revenue growth through the addition of new accounts and the expansion of current accounts. Sites powered by WebEdge represent more than 20,000 pages and attract more than 10 million unique visitors per year.

In June 2010, McMurry announced that in addition to the healthcare and hospital industries, WebEdge is now available to businesses in other trades, such as dental practices, veterinary practices, law firms and accountancies.
